Hi, Sandra! A quarter teaspoon of vanilla bean paste or beans will work as a substitute. I hope you love the whipped cream.

I haven’t used either of them, but I would be interested in trying. I have always made whipped cream from scratch because of the superior results. I assume the beans would have to be made into a paste?

Unfortunately, this isn’t the kind of whipped cream that will keep indefinitely. However, if you want to stabilize it in order to ensure that the fluffy cream will last for several days in the fridge, you can whisk 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with the powdered sugar before adding it to the cream.

As I mention in the post, I don’t typically stabilize the whipped cream, Donna. With powdered sugar, it will keep nicely for a day or two. However, if you want to stabilize it in order to ensure that the fluffy cream will last for several days, you can whisk 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with the powdered sugar before adding it to the cream.

Sometimes, I do always have fresh cream on hand, or I need the cream right away, so how would you go about storing this? Fridge? Freezer? Thanks so much! This looks wonderful!5 stars

You can stabilize whipped cream with cornstarch to get similar results to the way cool whip works. You’ll add a tablespoon of cornstarch to every cup of whipped cream.

Question: can this be used for example layer box cake type recipe or like a layered banana pudding? I make a Keto fluff type of cream however the it doesn’t layer properly. I cannot use cool whip due to the amount of sugar. Any suggestions?
