This quick and easy Spicy Guacamole is perfect for snacking, topping your burgers, and possibly just eating with a spoon. My kids were pretty excited when I mixed up a batch this week. It’s been too long since we had guacamole in the house!

Just in case you’re like me and lucky/unlucky enough to have accidentally ordered 10 avocados instead of 2, and they showed up at your door very very ripe, this recipe will hopefully help you use them up deliciously.

Simple homemade guacamole is a favorite with everyone

I’ve been making this simple Spicy Guacamole for years. It is a fun and very simple snack that I make anytime we have super ripe avocados in the house. My spicy food lovers adore the added heat and I especially love that it comes together in less than ten minutes.

In a pinch, if you don’t have fresh jalapenos in the fridge or minced ones stashed in the freezer, you can use canned jalapenos. (When I use canned peppers, I typically increase the amount a little bit, just to make sure we don’t miss out on the heat.)

I finally succumbed to the awesomeness of guacamole about 7 years ago when I tried this Roasted Garlic and Bacon Guacamole. I made it so many times that summer, I’m surprised my skin didn’t turn green. It’s truly fantastic.

Since then, I’ve made guacamole a number of different ways and it has grown to be a favorite with our whole family. You’ll want to try Pomegranate Guacamole and Green Chile Guacamole too if you’re fortunate enough to have those ingredients on hand.

Spicy Guacamole is super easy to make and it disappears lightning fast!

Spicy Guacamole Recipe

  1. Peel and chop the avocados into 1/2″ pieces. Lightly mash with a fork, leaving plenty of chunks.

  2. Add the onion, avocado, lime juice, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine and taste.

  3. Adjust the lime, salt, and pepper as needed.

  4. Serve immediately or cover tightly and refrigerate until ready to serve.

If you don’t plan to serve the guacamole immediately after making it, save an avocado pit. After the guacamole is made, place the pit in the container with the guacamole. This will help slow down the browning of the avocado. Remove the pit before serving.

With just a few minutes effort, you can be snacking on a bowl of spicy homemade guacamole.
